Exablox Scale Out NAS

Exablox – Scale-out NAS is completely scalable and feature rich

Exablox Scale-out NAS is a scalable and feature rich network attached storage, offering the lowest TCO of any enterprise grade NAS. Designed from the ground up, it is aimed specifically at the ever-increasing data storage needs of all SME’s, with out all the heavy storage management activities.
Exablox StorageExablox OneBlox Cluster

OneBlox is a multi functional appliance, with enterprise feature sets built in. Continuous snapshots protect your data, inline deduplication allows for faster transfer of data if needed encryption and real-time replication mean you have true disaster recovery. It consolidates primary storage as well as satisfies backup and archive storage requirements.

Key Features

  • Scale effortlessly – Scaling the capacity can be as easy as putting a single extra disk into the appliance. if you need to allow for larger growth or increased performance, another appliance can be added to the cluster, simply by adding in onto the same LAN and powering it on. There isn’t a need for complex capacity strategy or over-provisioning.
  • Zero configuration – The OneBlox series can be installed and available to use in less than 5 minutes, with absolutely NO configuration needed. insert at least 3 drives into the appliance, plug in an Ethernet cable and power it on, its as easy as that! If you need to add more capacity simply insert more drives and the extra capacity is added to the existing. If you ever need to add more availability or performance you can do this with n interruption to applications or users by adding additional nodes, which are automatically added and configured giving you zero disruptiveness to the business continuity.
  • Cloud based management  – OneSystem from Exablox is a management platform that is completely secure and allows you to manage the storage infrastructure from anywhere and on any browser, as long as you have internet access. It monitors, reports and manages pro-actively giving you complete stability. It also gets rid of the need for dedicated servers and long winded software upgrades/licenses so you simply log in and get the information you need on demand. If you have responsibility for more than one location then the admin capability of OneSystem allows you to manage the whole infrastructure safely and at ease. Although it is cloud based management, all the information on the Oneblox is stored on your premise, along with your data.
  • Data Protection – The continuous data protection feature gives full protection over the information/data stored continuously. It manages this by taking continuous and unlimited snapshots of all the information that is written onto the OneBlox. This means that every single file can be recovered easily in the event of data corruption, deletion or other mistakes/errors. You can recover your own information by simply using Mac Finder (MAC OS) or Windows Explorer (Microsoft OS). There is no need to restore information from the previous end of day backup just recover from your browser.

Scale-out Architecture

Exablox OneBlox employs a seamless scale-out Ring architecture supporting multiple OneBlox appliances presenting a single global file system. A Ring may consist of one or multiple OneBlox, scaling from a few TBs to nearly 700TBs of raw flash or hard-drive storage capacity. As business storage requirements change, OneBlox is extremely agile; simply add any number of drives, at any time, and in any capacity, granularity to meet your storage requirements. OneBlox simply grows the global storage pool with zero configuration and no application downtime.

Dynamic Reduction

Exablox is the only vendor in the storage industry enabling organizations to select between inline variable-length and fixed-length deduplication. Variable-length deduplication is perfectly suited for backup/recovery applications and yields exceptionally high deduplication ratios, typically, 10:1* or more. In addition, OneBlox’s unique architecture enables inline compression and continuous data protection as well. Within a single Ring, OneBlox’s effective storage capacity scales in excess of 4PBs.

*Actual dedupe ratios will vary and results are based on each customer data

Scale-out Storage for Virtual Environments

OneBlox uniquely supports VMware and Hyper-V environments by enabling virtual machines to utilize scale-out NFS datastores. Consolidate multiple NFS datastores in a single OneBlox Ring and scale to multiple PBs with OneBlox’s advanced data reduction. Need high performance? OneBlox 5210 is an all-flash array for consolidating performance hungry virtual machines. Need more capacity? Simply scale-out OneBlox by adding drives or OneBlox and the virtual servers instantly see additional storage capacity–with zero configuration.

Flexible Multi-site Replication

Implement disaster recovery with asynchronous multi-site replication. Employ a flexible 1-to-1, 1-to-many, many-to-1 bidirectional replication architecture with multiple OneBlox rings. Implement exactly the configuration that suits the business needs of geographically distributed environments. Only deduplicated and compressed data is replicated ensuring that the transfer is very bandwidth efficient. Many implementations require the source and target storage infrastructure to be identical. Exablox does not impose any such restrictions for the utmost flexibility.

Zero Configuration

Ease of use is not an afterthought with OneBlox. OneBlox is easily can be installed in less than 15 minutes. , provisioned and available to serve data with zero configuration. Simply insert at least three drives, plug in Ethernet, and power it on. It’s that easy. Need to add more storage? Simply add drives and the capacity is added to the same global storage pool. Need to add availability or performance? With no interruption to applications or users, additional OneBlox nodes can be added and automatically configured, enabling organizations non-disruptive scalability with their business.
