Protecting Your Investment: Keeping Up with New Technologies
The T950 Built to Last—and to Evolve
Throwaway technology—not with the T950. The T950’s modular design and wide range of features let you expand and upgrade your system to keep up with:
Encryption
BlueScale Encryption is also available in the Spectra T950 library, with hardware-based AES-256 encryption supported on easy-to-install library controllers, and Endura Key Management software supplied through the library interface. [ Back to Top ]
Capacity
There’s always more data, never less, so keeping up with capacity demands is a serious issue, and one that the T950 has addressed easily. With the T950’s capacity on demand (CoD) feature, simply visit the Spectra Logic Web site and select additional capacity. You get a key that enables more slots, and you instantly have access to additional capacity. Get only what you need, then add more as you need it. This keeps costs in check and extends the life of your library. You can expand to a total of 6 frames, greatly increasing capacity. [ Back to Top ]
Performance and Connectivity
If your data growth demands smaller backup windows, one option is to add drives. T950 drives simply slip into the library. And with the controller option, you can upgrade connectivity just as easily, so that you can take advantages of network upgrades or changes that may help your backups get done. Over time, as new connectivity options, or new tape technologies, become available, you can also upgrade your library simply by adding a component. [ Back to Top ]
Media
The T950 supports multiple types of media, along with multiple generations of each type. As new types of media become widely used, those may be added to the T950, too. [ Back to Top ]
Disk and New Technologies
As connectivity, media, and other technological improvements evolve, the Spectra T950 library’s component-based architecture lets you keep up by simply upgrading to the latest technology. Disk is increasingly important to backup strategies, and you can add it easily and modularly to the Spectra T950 library using RXT—portable RAID disk, added as you need it, with no other changes required.
