The T120 Built to Last—and to Evolve

Throwaway technology—not with the T120. The T120’s modular design and wide range of features let you expand and upgrade your system to keep up with:

Capacity

There’s always more data, never less, so keeping up with capacity demands is a serious issue. And one that the T120 has addressed easily. With the T120’s capacity on demand (CoD) feature, you get a key that enables more slots, and you instantly have access to additional capacity. Get only what you need, then add more as you need it. This keeps costs in check and extends the life of your library. [ Back to Top ]

Features

Adding features is just easy as adding capacity. If after the library is installed, you need partitioning, simply call us to quote for the Shared Library Services (SLS) partitioning option. Between enabling SLS with a key and using the guided configuration through the library’s graphical interface to guide you through the process, adding partitions is easy. [ Back to Top ]

Performance and Connectivity

If your data growth demands smaller backup windows, one option is to add drives. T120 drives simply slip into the library. And with the controller option, you can upgrade connectivity just as easily, so that you can take advantages of network upgrades or changes that may help your backups get done. Over time, as new connectivity options, or new tape technologies, become available, you can also upgrade your library simply by adding a component. [ Back to Top ]

Drives and Media

The T120 supports multiple types of drives and media, along with multiple generations of each type. As new types of drives and media become widely used, those may be added to the T120, too. [ Back to Top ]

Disk and New Technologies

As connectivity, media, and other technological improvements evolve, the T120’s component based architecture lets you keep up, by simply adding a component. Disk is increasingly important to backup strategies, and you can add it easily and modularly to the T120 using the RXT for the T120 option. Portable RAID disk, added as you need it, with no change required. [ Back to Top ]
