Installing and configuring the T120

Start at the beginning with installation and configuration. Simply put, an hour or less should do it. With excellent documentation and CD-based training available, and an intuitive guided configuration process, installation and configuration are simple. Also, it’s simple because the T120 is compatible with all major backup packages and operating systems, and provides a wide choice of connectivity options, from direct-connect Fibre Channel and SCSI drives, to Fibre Channel and Gigabit Ethernet controllers (QIPs). Using and Managing the T120

Using the library is easy, with the T120’s large, color touch-screen and intuitive interface. This same interface is displayed remotely, through included the Remote Library Controller ( RLC), that displays through any Web browser. This gives you the freedom to manage your T120 from anywhere your office, a different building, or a different country. Other management tools, including Observatory, help you manage all Spectra Logic libraries in your data center.

Managing and maintaining your library is easy thanks to the library’s self-monitoring and AutoSupport and Assisted Self Maintenance (ASM) options. With AutoSupport, you can have the library email support with the right information automatically filled in. The ASM option lets you use parts, stored on your site, to quickly swap in components no waiting for a sys­tems engineer. Just fix it and you’re ready to backup again, right away. Spending less time handling media

Grouped media using TeraPack technology saves you time. Use the TeraPack system to han­dle tapes a fraction as often. The tapes are imported in and exported from the library in bar-coded packs so that you never need to handle individual tapes. Instead, you handle them eight at a time. And with snap on, clear dust covers, you can store and stack TeraPack containers easily, protecting the media inside and making it much easier to trans­port and care for the media. TeraPack-encased media also fits into specially constructed Iron Mountain ‘suitcases’ that are ready to use in any on-site or off-site storage facility. [ Back to Top ]
